The doctors visit couldn't have taken any longer, but in the end, it was worth the wait as Austin was ready to play "show & tell." Not only did this little guy open his eyes, but he provided us with a yawn and the peace sign. He weighed in a 5 lb 13 oz and the doc projects a full term birth. As Alan puts it, let's hope science and nature agree. I only have two more shots in the hieny (yippee) and no more tests. I have pre-registered with the hospital, have purchased items and have brought the baby items down from the attic, but the anxiety continues to grow. It seems as if I am on the downward slope, but I can not keep thinking of the worse case scenarios. It is a bit frustrating.
In Alan and Kat style, we decide to do everything simultaneously. I was feeling a little overwhelmed so I started jotting down everything that I wanted to complete before Austin arrives. I came to the conclusion that we are basically starting two new adventures at the same time that include Madison starting her "big-girl" school on August 24 while we are expecting the arrival of Austin on August 27. For some strange reason, we like to make big life decision in pairs. Of course, there is the small mention of tieing up the loose ends at work, a couple of family members that shall not be named moving away, shopping for school clothes and supplies, preparing the nursery, planning a few birthday parties and looking for a new school for Austin. All in the Creech style...
On a side note, I really need to write a blog about how Madison's entire future apparently falls in the balance of becoming a big sister.
